ReverseBits

Great product. Shame it doesn't look like one.

Product that works but looks like an internal tool? We design the UX, build the system underneath it — tokens, components, and every state — and apply the brand where it converts. Designed in components your engineers can actually ship, not artboards they reinterpret.

The subscription product built on top of The Legal Paige's business. It needed to feel like software people pay for, not an internal tool, so we built the design system underneath it: tokens, components, and patterns the team reuses to ship new surfaces without a designer reviewing every screen.

How design engagements begin

Four situations we recognize by the second sentence.

Most design engagements with us start in one of four shapes. If you see yourself below, we have a strong opinion about how the work should go.

01

Our product works, but it doesn't look like a serious company.

You're charging real money on an interface that looks like an internal admin panel. Buyers read polish as proof you'll still be here in three years. We start with the three or four screens that carry your sales demo and your onboarding, not a full redesign you can't afford to ship. Perception is a feature; it just isn't on the roadmap yet.

Typically ships

  • UI audit
  • Key-flow redesign
  • Visual system
  • Demo-ready screens

02

Our designs look great in Figma but engineering can't build them.

The gap between a beautiful mockup and a shipped screen is where most design spend disappears. Designers hand over flat artboards; engineers reinterpret spacing, states, and edge cases on the fly. We design in components that map to code, document the states most mockups skip (empty, loading, error, long string), and stay in the pull requests during the build. Design that can't ship isn't design, it's expensive concept art.

Typically ships

  • Build-time QA
  • Component design
  • State coverage
  • Figma-to-code mapping

03

We need a design system before we hire more designers.

Two designers without a system produce two products. A token layer, a component library, and a usage doc let three designers and five engineers stay consistent without a meeting for every button. We build the system around your actual product, not a generic kit, and version it like code. The point isn't pretty documentation; it's that the tenth screen looks like the first without anyone policing it.

Typically ships

  • Storybook setup
  • Token architecture
  • Component library
  • Usage docs

04

Our brand was a logo, not an identity, and customers can tell.

A logo and a color don't survive contact with a real product, a sales deck, and a support email. An identity is the type, the voice, the motion, and the rules that keep all of it coherent across every surface. We build the system and apply it where it earns its keep first: the product UI and the pages that convert. Brand that lives only in a PDF guideline is brand nobody uses.

Typically ships

  • Brand identity
  • Type & voice
  • Brand-in-product
  • Asset kit

Our process

Every stage of the work, shown end to end.

Five stages from research to handoff. Click through to see what gets produced at each stage and the artifacts you walk away with.

We start with your users and your funnel, not a moodboard.

Before any pixels, we look at how people actually use the product and where the funnel leaks. End of this stage: a findings doc, a prioritized list of opportunities, and agreement on which problems are worth designing for.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions clients ask every time. Answered in full so you can make a confident decision.

Ask a Question ->

A Figma specialist designs with system thinking, not just visual craft. They use Variables and design tokens so colours and spacing update globally from one change. They build components with Auto Layout so designs behave like real responsive CSS. They configure Dev Mode so developers get annotated specs without needing to ask. A generic UI designer uses Figma as a drawing tool. A Figma specialist uses it as a product engineering tool that happens to produce beautiful output.
